Instrument Rental - Mansfield Schools
MockingBird Music at 905 S. Main St. in Mansfield has been renting instruments to Mansfield students for 10 years.
Using our guide and our reservation form below, we can provide your child with the quality instrument and necessary accessories they need to enjoy their musical experience to the fullest.
Instruments are divided into three categories which are determined by our rental company (NEMC) based on the overall price of the instruments.
For all of the instrument categories, NEMC offers a 4 month introductory special rate as follows:
Group 1 - $39.00 (Flutes - Clarinets - Trumpets - Trombones - Violins - Violas (up to 14") - Percussion Kits - Snare Drums)
Group 2 $60.25 (Piccolo, Viola (15" +)
Group 3 - $60.25 (Saxophones (Alto) - Cellos - Oboes)
Group 4 - $109.13 (Tenor Sax )
After your 3 month trial period the monthly rental rates are:
Group 1 - $23.19
Group 2 - $37.44
Group 3 - $36.69
Group 4 - $59.94
All of the rental payments you make can be applied to pay down the instrument should you choose to purchase it at any time.
In addition, MockingBird is authorized to provide you a 40% discount off of your balance at the time of purchase!
Protection for your Rental Instrument
NEMC requires protection for your rental and is included in these prices.
The Insurance Waiver will cover your instrument from accidental damage, theft, fire, and regular wear and tear!
If your child is playing violin, viola please refer to the chart below for choosing the correct size.
Have your child hold out their left arm to the side and face forward. with their palm up,
measure from under their chin to the middle of their palm.
Violins
18.5"-20.25" = 1/4 violin
20.25-22.25" = 1/2 violin
22.25-23.75" = 3/4 violin a
23.75" and longer= 4/4 violin
Violas
less than 21.5" = 12" viola
21.5"-23.25" = 13" viola
23.25"-24.75" = 14" viola
24.75"-25.5" = 15" viola
25.5"-26.25" = 15.5" viola
26.25"-27.12"=16" viola
27.12" and longer = 16.5" viola
Cello size is based roughly on your child's height
below 4 feet = 1/4 size
4 to 4 1/2 feet = 1/2 size
4 1/2 to 5 feet = 3/4 size
5 feet and above = 4/4 size
Your music instructors have informed us of what your children will need for their music program this year.
This usually includes a book, a music stand and some accessories for some instruments
