John DiSanto, Drum Instructor John has his Bachelors of Music from Berklee College of Music and has been teaching since 1978. As former owner of The Music Machine for 23 years, John knows what is necessary to successfully teach students of all ages and abilities. He stresses an emphasis on the fundamentals while ensuring students have fun while they learn. John has extensive experience as a performing musician, recording artist and recording engineer. Currently drumming for "The Rat Pack is Back", a Las Vegas National touring group and "The CJammers" a local R&B Band (est. 1999), and on call for many other performers and bands of varying styles, John can share with students his real world experience of drumming in bands of many different styles. John's Policies John is available to teach Mon from 4-9 and Tue from 5-9. His rate is currently $100/month/half hour once per week. Each student is allowed to reschedule up to four lessons per year beginning each September provided they inform the store ahead of time of the cancellation . (Make-up lessons must be scheduled by Aug 31st). Refer to the website for availability of times for make-up lessons. If John is absent, he will attempt to reschedule your lesson or may provide a substitute instructor. |

Gary Johnson, Drum Instructor As a drummer Gary Johnson has been working professionally for over 30 years with wide-ranging experience. He has accompanied some of the country's top jazz instrumentalists and vocalists including Dizzy Gillespie, Phil Wilson, Rosemary Clooney, the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Buddy De Franco, Connie Hanes, Scott Hamilton, Dave McKenna and Ruby Braff. In addition to his studies at Berklee College of Music, Gary's formal training includes private instruction with jazz great Alan Dawson, Fred Buda of the Boston Pops Orchestra and noted educator Bill Flanagan. Gary has been teaching for 7 years as a private instructor, a teacher at Milton High School and most recently at the Music Machine. The son of New England jazz legend Dick Johnson, Gary is a musician's musician who loves live performance, recording and helping new percussionists develop their craft. Gary's Policies Gary is available to teach wed 3:00-8:00 and Thu 3:00-6:30. His rate is currently $100/month/half hour once per week.
