Matt Spitz has been an integral member of the Mockingbird family for over a decade, teaching drums, piano, guitar, bass, music theory, and composition to hundreds of students, as well as coaching bands of all ages. Matt's approach is unique to each student; he aims to foster the student's interests and strengths while developing essential musical skills regardless of instrument. Matt's goal is for every student to achieve their goals, whether they have dreams of rock stardom, wish to make first chair in school band, or simply want to pursue a lifelong hobby.
Graduating from Brown University with a B.A. in Music in 2008, Matt is a talented and experienced multi-instrumentalist who plays and records professionally, touring New England and beyond with his band the Van Burens. Check them out on iTunes/Spotify!
