Mike has been with MockingBird Music since January, 2002. He has 42 years of experience playing guitar, and his love for playing has grown continuously over that time. His forte is rock and blues, but he also plays jazz fusion, fingerstyle, funk, country, heavy metal, and shred pyrotechnics.

Mike's early influences, and who he still enjoys, are Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, The Allman Brothers, Blue Oyster Cult and Aerosmith. Bands he could not live without are UFO, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Loudness and many more. Favorite guitar heroes include Allan Holdsworth, Michael Scenker, Gary Moore, Uli Roth, Akira Takasaki, Yngwie Malmsteen, Greg Howe and many, many more.

Mike's theory of teaching and learning is that skill is achieved primarily through practice, study and patience, and putting this to use through repetition, performance, and creativity.
